Black Magic Noize Festival 2012

This year the Black Magic Noize Festival is moving us ever closer to our goal as a group and movement. Black Magic Noize is a collaborative group of musicians, visual artists, and performers pushing for a common goal of enlightenment through art. We strive as a unit to teach, learn, and engage as many people as possible into some form of art. Expression is the product of life, and we want to give everyone that opportunity at our shows and gatherings. We encourage independent production and promotion, along with open source information in every aspect of our art. At this year’s festival we hope to bring Black Magic Noize to the next level of community and opportunity.

The BMN festival was created out of a need for more space and time to engage with one another. It is also the greatest form of expression I have personally as an artist. We hope to bring Paca Pride and Black Magic Noize together and create a collaborative community space where artists are so overwhelmed with inspiration and motivation that they cannot leave empty minded, along with pushing outsiders into the art world and further the art movement of the earth.

Speaking for the group I will outline what the festival structure consists of, along with what we need from Paca Pride as a venue and collaborator. I will also outline what we can bring as a group to help develop Paca Pride in any way possible.

First what we will need from Paca Pride. Our biggest concern in these early stages of planning is capacity of the land itself and the parking area north of the property. We will need to use the outdoor kitchen to cook for the volunteers and performers. BMN will also need guidance with obtaining the proper permits for this year’s festival. We do not have any experience in this area and we are more than willing to talk to anyone and learn the necessary restrictions for our event. All these points will provide us with a better understanding of our budget and what is available for our ticket prices, vendor prices, camping capacity, etc.

Second what we as a collaborative group can provide for Paca Pride. As a nonprofit group we believe in trade for services over paying any amount of money for things. Although we fully understand the necessity of money for land use, not to mention, organizing the festival as a whole. The largest resource we have is human power. I would like to organize days where we can bring a crew to the location and work on anything there is to work on, be it for the festival or just to help out. If it needs to be done we can make it happen.

Along with this proposal we have put together the festivals outline breaking down each aspect of the event. This is for you to understand our mapping structure and also for volunteers and support groups. We hope to work with Paca Pride on an overall budget and schedule a specific weekend for onsite planning and the event itself. Black Magic Noize and I both greatly appreciate the consideration and support you have given us so far and cannot wait to work more directly with Paca pride.
